# Troubleshooting

> The tablet will not open, an app is missing, or the SD card slots do nothing.

    The item is missing the line that connects it to the tablet. Check the entry in `ox_inventory/data/items.lua` has:

    ```lua theme={"dark"}
    client = { export = 'awoken_tablet.useItem' },
    ```

    Then check the resource folder is named exactly `awoken_tablet`, and restart ox\_inventory after editing its items.

    The tablet asks [Awoken Bridge](/resources/awoken-bridge/troubleshooting) who the player is. Read the bridge's boot report in the server console. If `framework` reads `none`, the bridge started before your framework did.

    ```cfg server.cfg theme={"dark"}
    ensure qbx_core
    ensure ox_inventory
    ensure awoken_bridge
    ensure awoken_tablet
    * `/tablet` is off by default. Turn on `Config.Open.command.enabled`.
    * With `requiresItem = true`, both only work while the player is carrying a tablet.
    * `Config.DisableWhile` blocks opening while dead, ragdolled, handcuffed or swimming.
    Work down the list:
    1. The app's resource is started, and it is **below** `ensure awoken_tablet` in `server.cfg`.
    2. The player passes the app's visibility rules: the item, job, gang or permission it asks for. That is set in the app's own config, not the tablet's.
    3. If the app is locked behind an SD card, the card has to be **installed in the tablet**, and the player has to open the modded tablet, not a stock one.
    4. The server console has no `tablet registration failed` line from that resource.
  <Accordion title="An app's tile says Update" icon="circle-up">
    That app was built for a different version of the tablet. Update the app, or the tablet, so the two match.
    The `buttons` block is missing from the `awoken_tablet_sd` item. Copy the whole entry again from `install/ox_inventory/items.lua`, then restart ox\_inventory.
    It has been added to `ox_inventory/data/containers.lua`. Remove it. ox\_inventory takes over **Use** on container items.
    The player hid it. The HUD key, `F7` by default, toggles it, and there is a switch for it in the tablet's **Settings** app. If `F7` is taken by another script on your server, change `Config.Hud.toggleKey`.
  <Accordion title="An app shows old content after I updated it" icon="rotate">
    Restart the tablet resource as well as the app, or have players reconnect. If it is your own app, see the cache note in [Building an app](/resources/awoken-tablet/building-an-app#common-pitfalls).
  <Accordion title="The console says 'Could not check for updates'" icon="cloud-arrow-down">
    Your server cannot reach `raw.githubusercontent.com`. It is a notice, not a fault. `Config.updateNotifications = false` silences the check and the banner together.
